Benjamin Sings Goodnight Songs
Google Search It

At night I often sing songs with Benjamin before he goes to sleep.  Here are a few samples of us singing together.

Assuming you can block out my voice they are actually quite cute (if I say so myself.)

Enabling My Bluetooth Places on the IBM T40
Google Search It

I recently got a new T40 computer, which included Bluetooth.  Unfortunately, after running through the Windows XP install there was not Bluetooth configuration tool in the control panel and in addition there was not My Bluetooth Places on the desktop.  To repair this I downloaded the IBM Bluetooth drivers and installed them.  This did result in the capability to pair Bluetooth devices.  Unfortunately these drivers are not compatible with input devices such as keyboard and mice.  Although I was able to successfully pair with both my Ericsson T39m phone and my iPaq 3870 I am left with wondering how to enable Bluetooth using the Windows XP Bluetooth drivers and not installing the IBM ones that disable support for input devices.

As a side note I should mention that Bluetooth support in Windows XP requires Service Pack 1 and the hot fixed mentioned in Microsoft KB Article Q323183.

SMTP Logging with Exchange
Google Search It

I have recently been having some problems with sending email from my Exchange 2000 server.  I finally decided to call up MS support.  They haven't solved the issue yet but I did learn a few things.  Firstly, rather than using the W3C log format you should use the NCSA format.  The latter has more data columns that are specific (like sender.)

I also learned that it is possible to turn the SMTP logging up even higher than the maximum available through the Exchange MMC logging dialogs.  To do this navigate to the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/System/CurrentControlSet/Services/MSExchangeTransport/Diagnostics registry key and set the various items to 7.  (The maximum available via the Exchange MMC dialogs is 5.

One last note is to check out a KB 813840.  This is a post Exchange SP3 roll-up hotfix.

Do You Have a Sub-License to Operate Your Site?

I receive a spam message with this title and, as much as I hate spam, I found the title rather humorous.  I imagine that some people probably fall for this.
