Hiding your Email Address on a Web Page
Google Search It
With the help of other Source Safe MVPs for years I have maintained a Visual Source Safe Faq and included an email address for readers to send in comments.  I finally got tired of the spam (although most of it is actually filtered) and removed the email address and replaced it with an image (and a new address of course).  I created the image using the website here.  I was going to use some type of pseudo encryption of the email address but doubted it would work so decided not to.  One interesting side effect that I confess I hadn't considered (until reading Robert Vaessen's write-up) was the fact that this makes the address inaccessible to the blind as the readers they use can't interpret the text.  Another cool item the write-up revealed was this test for email address harvest vulnerability.  You can use this site to test whether your email address can be (trivially) harvested from a page.
